BACKSTORY: Madison comes from a different type of family. For starters they’re all vegetarians. When the Thorpe parents were younger they were hippies. Which was a perk for Madison and Christopher because they got to hear great stories about their parents sticking it to the man and doing drugs. Though their parents have settled down some, they haven’t completely. They still live in their childhood and rip sometimes but only sometimes. They just want the best for their children and that’s for them to be happy.
Madison doesn’t want to be like her parents. She’s not a party person, and doesn’t want to ever try any drugs or alcohol. It’s something she’s stuck to for as far back as she can remember. She just wants to get into Yale and be successful world-wide so she’ll never have to worry about not having a job. While others spend the summer having fun and going out, she spends it inside a tent under a boardwalk reading. Sometimes she likes to treat herself to sitting in an air conditioned Starbucks. She doesn’t hate her family for the way they are though, don’t get her wrong. She just wants a better life than that. A more high class life.
WHAT THEY’RE DOING HERE: Madison was dragged out to Carpinteria with her brother Christopher because her parents want her to have fun. She has no plans of trying to please them, all she wants are some good books and some Pre-Cal summer homework to do. But when Madison lays down to go to sleep, there’s always one thing on her mind; a boyfriend. What it would be like to be in a relationship, to be happy with someone and just let yourself go. She’s just too afraid to pursue it.
WHAT THEY HAVE PLANNED FOR SUMMER: ”I don’t even want to be here. Let me go home. Please Christopher turn the car around. We’re not too far, it we turn around now we’ll be in city limits in about two hours. Please Christopher… Ugh, I guess I’ll just work on reading this book again. There isn’t anything else worthwhile to do.”

It’s currently summer time 2012. May 31st to be exact. Everyone’s out of school and ready for their four month long vacation. Plans have been made and cars have planned to take to the open road to their destination. Where exactly is their destination you ask? Well, Carpinteria, California of course. One of the greatest places to be durring the summer and spring. Forget Florida, forget Jersey, all that you need is on the boardwalk that goes for miles in Carpinteria. Not to mention, there’s much, much more off the boardwalk and beach. Come check it out, stay awile and make yourself some tea. I garuntee you’ll love it.
Carpinteria is known world-wide for it’s summers. Every year many new faces arrive, and every year following you’ll see them again. What’s not to love in Carpinteria? It has everything. Surfing competitions, bonfires, parties, grand hotels on the strip, beach front living, oppertunities galore, and not to mention everyone here is beautiful. There’s always somewhere for you to fit in in this melting pot of greatness. It’s the summer of of hakuna matata and new friendships.

What made us create Carpinteria, California?
We’ll, I’d just quit out of several roleplays due to the fact that they were going down hill and the people just didn’t make it quality. All they were looking for were someone to chat with - not an actual roleplay. Due to the fact that I was looking for both, I decided to finally create my own. Something I could call all mine. So I got to work, thinking about what I want, and how I wanted it. I scroll through the roleplay tags and see a lot of deep plots that usually revolve around vampires, forbidden gay love, and shows that I’m not to fond off. I had nor have any interest for any of those. I just want something simple and happy. Somewhere where people could have a good time. My friend is always talking about this town saying she wants me to visit - and I haven’t that’s why this Carpinteria is all make believe. This isn’t anything deep, or a roleplay for a certain fandom. It’s just a melting pot of roleplays. I hope you like this roleplay as much as I do and join. We’d love to have you all here for summer vacation.
Brandon Paul | 19 | The Micheal Hills Hotel | OPEN | FC: Aaron Johnson
BACKSTORY: Faggot. Freak. Geek. Loser. They pile higher and higher. On a normal day that’s what Brandon hears, sees on his belongings, and thinks to himself. Society has crushed Brandon Paul to even believing what these idiots have been saying to him. Brandon has always had a different way of thinking. A way that no one else understood. He knew he was destined for greatness when he finally grew up and settled down. He had plans, ideas, and was ready to show the world. But like everyone, they forget what they’re made of and get let down. All Brandon ever wanted to do was fit in.
WHAT THEY’RE DOING HERE: Brandon decided going to the beach for summer would be normal. That is what normal people do over holiday break, right? He convinced his mother to lend him a few grand so he could make his way from New York to sunny California. Seeing a Brandon has always been such a trustworthy kid she could find it in herself to break his heart and crush his spirits.
WHAT THEY HAVE PLANNED FOR SUMMER: ”Normal. Everything normal, and just that.”
Jared Bayle | 17 | Days Inn | OPEN | FC: Matthew Beard
BACKSTORY: It wasn’t too long after Jared turned 15 when his mother died and father left him. It was a tragic time in his life, he woke up one morning searching the house for his father and no one was around. He’d figured maybe he went out to get some groceries from the local market or something. About a week later he noticed that wasn’t the case. His father walked out on him. He no longer wanted to take care of Jared. Being so young Jared didn’t know what to do but get many odd jobs to make take care of his needs. Even when things were hard for Jared he stayed in school, it was a very rare occurrence if he didn’t go. After all, he knew that school was his biggest priority if he wanted to make his life worth something. Growing up alone takes a toll on a person, so as you can guess Jared’s beyond depressed and confused. He’s held in so much anger for years not knowing what to do with it.
WHAT THEY’RE DOING HERE: New beginnings is all Jared Bayle wants. A new home, a new life, friends, and to be normal. Where else would the signs point him to other than California? Following them he used majority of the money he stole and saved up just to make it here and make it last for awhile. Who knows how long California living will drain him.
WHAT THEY HAVE PLANNED FOR SUMMER: ”I want to find the meaning of life. Seriously. I honestly don’t see a point of my existence. All I need to know is if I even have one.”
